Once again, with a grant provided by National Sons of Amvets for “Undergarments for Veterans”, I was able to bring forth and receive great appreciation from Veteran Pat Tully, Department of Florida ALT Department Provost Marshall, Department of Florida Homeless Veterans task force/POW-MIA Committee Chairperson and Amvets District XI Commander for the Undergarments we brought to the SEC this past weekend February 16-18.
I say “we” because of the support I received not only from the grant and Post 86 Sons, but also from Veteran Tanya Marheine, Department of Florida Americanism/AADAA Chair Person and District X Commander for the Veterans.
It was with Tanya’s assistance and transporting the garments to the SEC, we were able to present the purchased undergarments to Pat Tully at the SEC. However, she also played a critical part in the selection of the women’s undergarments that most men, including myself, don’t have a clue on what to purchase! This is just another fine example of Sons and Amvet’s Veteran’s working together for a great cause.
In addition, with two anonymous donations we were able to supply the Veterans in need, $400.00 of undergarments. This was an extra $150.00 above the original grant towards this Veteran’s donation undergarments program to the well deserving Veterans.
Thank you once again for graciously allowing the Sons of Post 86 to represent this donation at the February SEC.
